1. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
– To establish, develop, and sustain the Ephesians Community, encompassing all stakeholders of Ephesus, to contribute to a sustainable future with a consciousness of cultural heritage.
– To disseminate the universal value and cultural richness of Ephesus through contemporary and high-quality forms of expression.
– To collaborate with the Ephesians Community to develop resources for the preservation of Ephesus and the continuation of new archaeological studies.
2. STAKEHOLDERS AND TARGET AUDIENCE
Stakeholders:
Members of the Ephesians Community in Turkey and abroad, academia, non-governmental organizations, creative sector professionals, individual and institutional supporters, the media, the Austrian Archaeological Institute (ÖAI), and public institutions (relevant ministries and local governments in İzmir).
Target Audience:
– Children and young people aged 10–18 living in Turkey
– Ephesians Community (ETo)
3. STRATEGIC FOCUS AREAS FOR 2023-2025
a. Designing and implementing a multi-layered and sustainable Ephesians Community model to achieve the foundation’s primary objectives
– Clearly defining the target audience, common goals, and principles of participation for the Ephesians Community.
– Identifying and activating existing and potential networks (individual and institutional) to encourage participation in the community.
– Developing unique content and projects that promote participation at local and international levels for different groups within the community.
b. Developing content and programs that highlight Ephesus’s potential as a universal cultural heritage site for a sustainable future
– Illustrating not only the archaeological significance but also the richness of Ephesus’s cultural life and its contributions to the history of thought and art.
– Aligning the foundation’s programs with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to make them strategically valuable on an international scale.
– Developing strategic collaborations that leverage the knowledge and expertise of academia, NGOs, and creative industry professionals to enhance the foundation’s efficiency.
– Effectively using digital platforms to make content about Ephesus accessible and engaging.
c. Positioning the foundation as a key player in Turkey and internationally for the future of Ephesus
– Creating a simple, inclusive, and engaging communication style tailored to specific target audiences for the foundation’s programs.
– Establishing a comprehensive and strong online presence through social media, the website, and other digital media channels.
– Increasing visibility and recognition of the foundation’s name and mission by participating in cultural, arts, and civil society networks.
d. Focusing on “face-to-face resource development” to create human and financial resources for the foundation’s institutional sustainability
– Identifying and involving individuals with relevant expertise, support capacity, and broad networks for the “Ephesians Ambassadors” group, and creating special loyalty programs for them.
– Securing resources from international grant institutions, foreign cultural offices, and technology companies for programs designed for children and young people.
– Dedicating a percentage of funds raised from the foundation’s programs, along with a “matching fund” system, to provide regular support for archaeological excavations or conservation activities in Ephesus.
– Developing a corporate “competency certificate” to ensure all Ambassadors communicate the foundation’s mission effectively.
