Bedroom 12a

Room 12a is the smallest room located on the ground floor of Unit 5 (3.5 x 2.8 m). Due to its position within the unit and the absence of windows, it has been described as a bedroom.

The floor is covered with white mosaic, and the walls are adorned with frescoes over three layers.

The first and oldest layer is decorated with red circles and red leaves on a white background. This painting was done quite quickly and carelessly.

A part of the second layer is still visible on the north wall. It displays a white background without any images.

The third and final layer is largely preserved on the north and south walls, clearly revealing the decorative system. The rectangular area displayed above the 60 cm marble base is embellished with marble imitation and crowned with a cornice in light brown and purple.

The east wall, however, has been destroyed down to the base.
