Grand Theatre

The repair of the facade that forms the southern wing of the structure, known as the southern analemma, and the infrastructure chambers behind it is addressed. With these repairs, an effort was made to secure the Marble Street passing in front of the theater, and at the same time, interventions were planned to reopen the stairs (stairs coded S1) leading to the building from the southern part of the western facade by ensuring visitor safety.
Similarly, there is also a staircase area coded N1 at the North entrance as the mirror image of this stair area. Wall repairs and safety measures for visitors were also carried out in this area.
The relevant projects were approved by the Izmir II. Board for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage in 2009 and 2010, and the works were initiated.

The conservation and repair project aimed at the Grand Theater of Ephesus, which was closed to events and whose main visitor entrances were out of use in 2006 due to structural problems and misuse, was defined with two main objectives.  By carrying out the repairs of the structure and the necessary restoration and preservation works, the theater was reopened for events that would not harm the building.
